This picture is from a beautiful series of photos from the Caucasus, displayed on the website of the Kunstkammer museum in St. Petersburg. The Kunstkammer is the oldest museum in Russia, founded in 1704 by Peter the Great, who collected interesting objects on his travels through Europe, and eventually made them into a permanent exhibition of curious or beautiful things.
